Currently researchers are too isolated in their environment and create products and innovations that do not cater to current societal needs. It is understood that environments which emphasis on human interactions such as collaborative space or common spaces are what mainly drives innovation process and ideas. Collaborative space considerations include, visual connections throughout the work space, group areas for informal brainstorming such as lounges and access to technology and interactive displays throughout the work space. A flexible working environment can influence the innovation process and productivity.
